In this second talk, Dr. Chavez will speak more about the gift of culture, it’s effects on people, general characteristics of Latino Spirituality, it’s history, Hispanic culture’s views surrounding death, the influence of charismatic spirituality on Hispanics, and various comparisons of Anglo and Hispanic cultures, perceptions of power, and answers to questions by the priests.

His talk was given on Oct. 7th, 2008 at the annual Priest convocation of the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon.

In this episode, we will be listening to Dr. Arturo Chavez, CEO and president of the Mexican American Cultural Center or MAAC which is located in San Antonio TX. In this first of two talks, Dr. Chavez will speak about the terms hispanic and latino. He’ll reflect on what it is that we call culture and how each culture reveals something about the truth of God’s revelation as well as the differences of culturals. This talk was given on Oct. 6th, 2008 at the annual Priest Convocation of the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon.
